Puerto Rico eSIM questions
If you do not have a local SIM for Puerto Rico, an eSIM is the simplest option. It installs in minutes and uses a network in Puerto Rico, so you are not paying your home provider's roaming rates. There is nothing to collect on arrival and no plastic SIM to swap over.
Your phone needs eSIM support and must be unlocked to any network. Most handsets released since 2018 qualify, including iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and recent Honor, Motorola, OnePlus and Xiaomi models. You can check your exact model in our eSIM compatibility checker before you buy.
Your plan begins the moment the eSIM first connects to a network in Puerto Rico, or on the start date shown with your plan. You can install it before you travel; it will not use up its days while you are still at home.
Yes. An eSIM runs alongside your physical SIM, so your usual number stays available for calls and messages. Just set mobile data to the QuickSIM line, and turn off data roaming on your home SIM to avoid charges from your own provider.
